For a friend who is grieving after a loss, the holidays can be especially hard.

This card lets your friend know you are holding space for them and their grief, even during a season when everyone is "supposed" to feel joyful.

About the Card Author:

Laura contributed the words for this card, with oil pastel artwork from J. Foote.

As Laura explains, "Holidays were hard for me the first year after my dad died. One of the hardest things was listening to Christmas music. My dad always sang a goofy version of 'Rudolph' and every time I heard that song it made me both laugh and cry in one achy moment. Now as time passes, I laugh more and cry less. But the healing journey is real."

Laura's advice for supporting someone who is grieving during the holidays:

Give all the space and time they need to grieve, and know that everyone experiences these feelings at a different pace.

Don't be afraid that you will be "reminding" them about their loss- they are thinking about it all the time and by acknowledging it, you help them feel a little less alone.
